JALALABAD, Afghanistan, April 4 (Xinhua) -- At least four members of Islamic State (IS) militant group were killed following an airstrike conducted by the U.S.and NATO-led coalition forces' unmanned plane, authorities said Wednesday.

The strike occurred at around midday on Tuesday after the plane targeted an IS hideout in Haska Mina district, the provincial government said in a statement, adding amount of weapons and ammunition of the IS group were also destroyed.

No security force member or civilian was hurt following the strike, it added.

The mountainous province, 120 km east of Kabul, has been the scene of clashes between security forces and IS militants from time to time.

The clashes have forced thousands of villagers to flee to safer places.

The IS group, which emerged in Nangarhar in early 2015, has yet to make comments on the report. Enditem
