Chinese shares close higher at midday

BEIJING, April 4 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended higher in the morning trading on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.8 percent to 3,161.7 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.62 percent to end at 10,821.09 points. Enditem
