WASHINGTON -- The Office of U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) on Tuesday published a proposed list of Chinese goods subject to additional 25 percent tariffs amid strong opposition from China and U.S. business groups.

The proposed list covers approximately 1,300 products imported from China, including industries such as aerospace, information and communication technology, robotics, and machinery, the USTR's Office said in a statement, noting they're worth approximately 50 billion U.S. dollars of annual trade value. SAN FRANCISCO -- One person was killed and four others were wounded in a shooting at the YouTube headquarters in the U.S. state of California Tuesday, authorities said.

Police Chief Ed Barberini of San Bruno, a city about 19 km south of downtown San Francisco on U.S. western coast, said the suspect female shooter appeared to have shot herself after injuring multiple people at the campus of the YouTube facility. (California-YouTube Headquarters-Shooting)

UNITED NATIONS -- The United Nations is preparing for a transition of its mission in Haiti to a non-peacekeeping presence given the return of stability in the Caribbean country, said Jean-Pierre Lacroix, the UN undersecretary-general for peacekeeping operations, on Tuesday.

"A broadly consulted and owned, benchmark-based exit remains the right approach to preserving the stabilization and peacebuilding gains achieved over a decade in Haiti," Lacroix told the Security Council. "We are determined to ensure ... that Minujusth be the last peacekeeping operation deployed in Haiti." (UN-Haiti)

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday reiterated his intention of bringing American troops back from Syria, citing that the fighting against the extremist group Islamic State (IS) was close to being complete.
