Morocco seizes record amount of psychotropic drug

RABAT, April 3 (Xinhua) -- The Moroccan police have seized a record of 241,319 ecstasy pills at the northern Tangier-Med port, the Moroccan official MAP news agency reported on Tuesday.

Coming from Europe, the illicit substance was on board of a four-wheel drive bound to Morocco, the report said citing a statement from the police.

Two people boarding the vehicle were arrested, it added.

"This operation is part of sustained efforts by the security services to fight against international criminal networks operating in psychotropic drug trafficking," it said. Enditem
