Morocco, Spain sign action plan to cement judicial cooperation

RABAT, April 3 (Xinhua) -- The Moroccan Ministry of Justice and its Spanish counterpart signed Tuesday an action plan to reinforce judicial cooperation.
Inked by the Moroccan Minister of Justice Mohamed Aujjar and his Spanish peer Rafael Catala Polo, this plan of action covers the years 2018 and 2019.
Under this plan of action, both parties will share good practices and exchange mutual experiences in the area of judicial administration.
It includes a number of activities, including a workshop on new trends in the use of judicial cooperation mechanisms in the fight against cybercrime.
Also a workshop on transnational family conflicts between Morocco and Spain and a working visit to learn about the Spanish experience in the field of monitoring and evaluation of criminal policy are included in the plan.
The plan of action provides also for the exchange of legislation and documents regulating the judicial system.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of an international conference on judiciary independence held in the Moroccan city of Marrakech, with the participation of global ministers, experts and rights organizations.
The three-day conference, which opened on Monday, discusses many themes related to the evolution of judiciary independence in a changing world, the governance of the judicial administration and strengthening of its efficiency, and the development of institutional capacities of judicial system.
