St. Petersburg not to allow buses without ERA-GLONASS during World Cup

ST. PETERSBURG, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Tourist, sightseeing and other private buses not equipped with ERA-GLONASS compatible navigators will not be allowed to enter St. Petersburg during the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

TASS reports that special posts of traffic police will be organized for this purpose from June 1 to July 17. In addition, the owners of private buses must notify the the Transport Directorate of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in the Russian Federation about their planned arrival in the city during the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The exception will be made only for municipal and regional buses with regular routes.

ERA-GLONASS is the Russian emergency response navigation system. It is technologically compatible with the European eCall system. Enditem
