St. Petersburg marks 1st anniversary of subway terrorist attack

ST. PETERSBURG, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Residents of St. Petersburg brought flowers to the Tekhnologichesky Institut subway station to commemorate the victims of the terrorist attack that occurred one year ago.

RIA Novosti reported that a commemorative requiem was held in the Trinity Cathedral on Tuesday. It was attended by Chairman of the city Committee for Social Policy Alexander Rzhanenkov.

On April 3 of 2017, a terrorist attack took place between Sennaya Ploshchad and Tekhnologichesky Institut metro stations in St. Petersburg. Sixteen people died in the attack, including the suicide bomber Akbarzhon Jalilov.

According to the Investigative Committee, 11 people involved in this attack are being held under arrest. Enditem
