Jewelry shop robbed by armed men in Myanmar's northernmost state

YANGON, April 3 (Xinhua) -- A jewelry shop in Myitgyina, the capital of Myanmar's Kachin state in the northernmost part of the country, has been robbed by two unidentified masked armed men, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported Tuesday.
The owner of the jewelry shop, Kyaw Myanmar, was attacked by the two armed men at the weekend, who took away different kinds of jewelry weighing three viss (4.89 kg) and some 20 million kyats (14,705 U.S. dollars) in cash and stabbed the owner with a knife.
After the incident, the two burglars fled from the scene of the crime with a vehicle which was abandoned near a test driving ground later.
Local police are hunting for the two armed robbers, the report added. Enditem
