Kuwaiti emir congratulates Sisi on re-election as Egyptian president

KUWAIT CITY, April 2 (Xinhua) -- The Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Monday sent a cable to congratulate Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on his victory in the presidential election.

The emir voiced felicitations to Sisi on his election for a second term in office, expressing good wishes in his service to the nation.

The emir also lauded the distinguished and historic ties between the two countries and noted his aspiration for stronger bonds and greater cooperation in various areas.

The Egyptian Presidential Committee announced on Monday that incumbent President Sisi won 97.08 percent of the valid votes in the 2018 presidential election. Enditem
