KUNDUZ -- A Taliban key leader Mawlawi Burhan is among over a dozen people killed in Dasht Archi district of the northern Kunduz province on Monday, a local official said.

NEW DELHI -- At least six people died and six others injured in clashes with police Monday as India's Dalits protested against the Supreme Court's alleged dilution of a law ensuring the community's protection.

Dalits, considered the lowest rung of India's caste hierarchy, are angry over the top court's recent order banning automatic arrests and registration of criminal cases under a law that is meant for protection of the marginalised communities from abuse and discrimination. (India-Protest-Dalits)

NEW DELHI -- The remains of 38 Indian labourers who were kidnapped and later killed in Iraq's Mosul city in 2015 by ISIS were brought back home on Monday.

The remains were exhumed from a mass grave after being helped by Iraqi authorities, and were identified by matching their DNA with those of their family members, according to Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. (India-Labourer Remain-ISIS)

VIENTIANE -- The State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) and Lao Ministry of Science and Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on intellectual property cooperation here on Monday.

MANILA -- The Electoral Tribunal in the Philippines officially began on Monday a manual recount of votes cast in the disputed vice-presidential ballot.
