LHASA, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Rock paintings dating back to 2,000 B.C. have been found in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, according to archaeologists.

The four rock paintings were discovered in Zezerong Village. The images include horses, deer, sheep, dogs, people, pagodas and others.

"The theme of the paintings is centered on hunting and they are similar to some rock paintings discovered in Nyingchi," said He Wei, researcher with the regional institute of cultural relics.

The discovery of the paintings has offered valuable information for the study of the culture of Tibet in different periods, He said. Enditem
