SAN JOSE -- Carlos Alvarado, the candidate from the ruling Citizen Action Party, won Costa Rica's presidential runoff with 60.74 percent of the vote, according to the latest results released by the country's electoral tribunal on Sunday evening.
With 95.58 percent ballots counted, Carlos Alvarado gained 60.74 percent of the vote, and his rival, Fabricio Alvarado, an evangelical candidate from the National Restoration Party, obtained 39.26 percent of the vote, according to the results. (Costa Rica-Election)

LOS ANGELES -- The U.S. Strategic Command's Joint Force Space Component Command (JFSCC) confirmed that Tiangong-1, China's experimental space lab, re-entered the Earth's atmosphere over the southern Pacific Ocean at about 5:16 p.m. PST (0016 April 2 GMT) Sunday.

TRIPOLI -- Violence in Libya killed five civilians and injured 11 others in March, the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) said Sunday.
