NEW DELHI -- India has 22 nuclear power plants with a power generation capacity of 6,780 megawatts.

Majority of them are spread in southern states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, and western states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.

According to official figures as of December 2017, in past three years, electrification was successfully completed in as many as 15,183 villages, while the remaining 2,217 inhabited villages in as many as 13 states across the country are targeted to be electrified by May this year.(India-Power capacity)

YANGON -- Myanmar State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi called Sunday night for the collective strength to overcome the challenges facing the country in the new Myanmar calendar year of 1380 beginning April 17, 2018.

TOKYO -- A delegation dispatched by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation held a reception for Japanese friends here Sunday evening in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between China and Japan.
