1st LD: U.S. soldier, coalition personnel killed in Syria

WASHINGTON, March 30 (Xinhua) -- The Pentagon said Friday that a U.S. soldier and a U.S.-led coalition personnel were killed in a roadside bomb attack in Syria.

According to a statement from the U.S. military, five others were wounded in the attack that occurred on Thursday night.

It added that the wounded personnel were being evacuated for further medical treatment.

U.S. media reported that the bomb had exploded in Manbij, not far from the Syrian border with Turkey.

U.S. military spokesman Col. Ryan Dillon could not confirm who was behind the attack. Enditem
