Lao to select best judokas for Asian Games

VIENTIANE, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Lao Judo Federation will select eight athletes, four men and four women, to compete in the coming Asian Games to be held in Indonesia.

More than 20 leading judo players including juniors are currently training under former national judokas who are passing on their experience to the crop of medal hopefuls, local daily Vientiane Times reported on Friday.

Lao federation official Mayouly Phanouvong said earlier they would provide a professional Japanese coach to assist the team before travelling to Indonesia.

During the 2014 Asian Games in South Korea, the Lao judo team comprised of three men and two women, failed to win any medal. Enditem
