CAPE TOWN, March 30 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in South African major media outlets on Friday.

-- Police Minister Bheki Cele said on Thursday he's particularly pleased with the appointment of Lieutenant General Tebello Mosikili as the new detective services divisional commissioner because of her experience in combatting crimes against women and children.

Mosikili is the former national head of the family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit.(Eyewitness News)

-- An application for a class action law suit against two food processing companies - Tiger Brands and Enterprise - was filed at the South Gauteng High Court on Thursday.
