Urgent: 5.8-magnitude quake hits west of Honiara, Solomon Islands -- USGS

NEW YORK, March 29 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted 42km west of Honiara, Solomon Islands, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said on Thursday.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 9.4187 degrees south latitude and 159.5609 degrees east longitude. Enditem
