German shares gain 1.31 pct Thursday

FRANKFURT, March 29 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index up 156.02 points, or 1.31 percent, to close at 12,096.73 points.

Automotive manufacturer Daimler won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.69 percent. German airlines Lufthansa and automotive manufacturer Volkswagen rose by 3.33 percent and 3.19 percent respectively.

Commerzbank lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.25 percent. Multinational chemical firm Linde and marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group down by 0.87 percent and 0.54 percent respectively.

Daimler was the most-traded share with a turnover of 549.29 million euros (676.78 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
