French shares gain 0.72 pct on Thursday

PARIS, March 29 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.72 percent, or 36.86 points, to close at 5,167.30 points.

Thirty-one of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

French multinational car manufacturer Renault advanced 5.79 percent, the top gainers of the blue chips. Another French multinational car manufacturer Peugeot rose 3.38 percent, followed by French multinationalluxury group LVMH, which gained 2.58 percent.

French life service company Sodexo went down by 15.69 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French industrial group Legrand lost 0.47 percent. French multinational hotel group Accor edged down 0.39 percent. Enditem
