Spanish stock rises for third day

MADRID, March 29 (Xinhua) -- The Spanish Ibex-35 stock index enjoyed its third day of rising on Thursday.

The last day's trading ahead of the Easter holiday opened with the Ibex-35 standing on 9,555.00 points, and closed on 9,600.40 points, meaning a rise of 0.48 percent on the day, although the Ibex-35 has ended the first quarter of 2018 4.4 percent down on the start of the year.

The financial sector performed relatively strongly on Thursday, with the banks, BBVA, Caixabank and Banco Santander all seeing their share prices increase, although the three biggest share rises of the day were for steel manufacturer, Arcelormittal, the International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG) and estate agency Inmobiliaria Colonial, whose shares climbed by 4.21, 3.11 and 2.96 percent respectively.

The biggest falls were for Cellnex Telecom and energy companies Gas Natural and Iberdrola which suffered losses of 1.63, 1.42 and 1.19 percent in share prices. Enditem
