1st LD: Driver tries to ram soldiers in southeastern France, no casualties

PARIS, March 29 (Xinhua) -- A man tried to drive his car into a group of soldiers who were jogging in Isere department in southeastern France on Thursday, local authorities said, adding no casualties were reported.

At 09:00 local time (0700 GMT), a driver tried to ram his vehicle into military officers from the 93rd Mountain Artillery Regiment in Varce town, the Isere provincial government said in a statement on Twitter.

An investigation into "the heinous act" is underway, the statement said, adding that police are searching for the suspect whose motives remain unknown. Enditem
