Kuwaiti official hails strategic Kuwait-U.S. ties

Xinhua,March 29, 2018 Adjust font size:

KUWAIT CITY, March 29 (Xinhua) -- The Kuwait-U.S. relations are solid, distinguished and strategic, Reem Al-Khaled, Assistant Foreign Minister of Kuwait for the U.S. affairs, said Wednesday.

She made the remarks on the sidelines of participation in a ceremony marking the U.S. national day.

Al-Khaled commended the positive outcomes of the Kuwait-U.S. strategic dialogue, which was launched in 2016 and held in Washington, saying that she hopes Kuwait would host the third session of the dialogue and there are several aspects of cooperation between the two countries.

She referred to the distinguished initiative of the United States on bilateral cooperation in the field of education, noting that there are 13,000 Kuwaiti students in the United States.

Stressing Kuwait's keenness on promoting relations with the United States in all domains, she said Kuwait is constantly coordinating with the United States in countering terrorism and drying up its sources.

Kuwait has been a close military partner of the United States since a U.S.-led military coalition liberated it from the Iraqi occupation in 1991. The Kuwait-U.S. relationship since that time has been consolidated as an important alliance for both countries. Enditem
