20 Taliban militants killed in eastern Afghanistan

KABUL, March 29 (Xinhua) -- As many as 20 Taliban militants have been killed and 13 others wounded following government forces operations in Afghanistan eastern province of Ghazni, an official said Thursday.

The cleanup operations were launched late on Wednesday in villages of Khani Baba, Zaray and Dalil of the troubled Andar district, where 20 armed militants affiliated with the Taliban have been killed and 13 others wounded, Aref Nuri, the provincial governor's spokesman told Xinhua.

Nuri has also confirmed the death of two security personnel and injury of three others during the crackdown which has been continuing in the restive district.

The Taliban group has yet to make comment on the report. Enditem
