TEHRAN -- Iran's Defense Minister will visit Russia's capital Moscow next week to take part in the 7th Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS), Tasnim news agency reported on Wednesday.

The visit by Brig. Gen. Amir Hatami will be made at the invitation of Russia's Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu. (Iran-Russia)

ADEN, Yemen -- At least 11 Yemeni soldiers were killed after al-Qaida gunmen ambushed a military convoy in the southeastern province of Hadramout on Wednesday evening, a security official told Xinhua.

The deadly attack was carried out by a group of al-Qaida gunmen in Hajar Valley of Hadramout province and targeted a military convoy composed of three vehicles, the security source said on condition of anonymity. (Yemen-Terror Attack)

TEHRAN -- An Iranian deputy foreign minister said that the withdrawal of foreign forces will help restore peace to Afghanistan, Tasnim news agency reported on Wednesday.

TRIPOLI -- The Libyan city of Zintan hosted a reconciliation meeting on Wednesday with representatives of the rival city of Misurata for the first time since armed groups from the two cities fought in 2014 in Tripoli.

ANKARA -- Turkey will take action if Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) do not withdraw immediately from Syria's Manbij region, Turkish National Security Council (MGK) said on Wednesday.
