French shares gain 0.29 pct on Wednesday

PARIS, March 28 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.29 percent, or 14.70 points, to close at 5,130.44 points.

A total of 25 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

French multinational cosmetics company L'Oreal advanced 3.76 percent, the top gainers of the blue chips. French multinational electric utility company Engie S.A. rose 2.61 percent, followed by French multinational food-products corporation Danone, which gained 2.05 percent.

STMicroelectronics, a French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer, went down by 5.42 percent, the top loser of the blue chips.

French multinational information technology consulting corporation Cap Gemini lost 2.47 percent. TechnipFMC, a UK-based company that provides complete project life cycle services edged down 1.99 percent. Enditem
