ASSADABAD, Afghanistan -- Four police personnel were killed and two others injured as clash erupted in Manogai district of the eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan on Wednesday, police spokesman in the province, Shir Wali Musamim said.

According to the official, a group of Taliban militants attacked a police checkpoint in Manogai district in the wee hours of Wednesday, killing four police and injuring two others. (Afghanistan-Gun Battle-Death)

MANILA -- Seven people were reported killed and five others injured on Wednesday in a roadside accident in a town in Batangas province of the Philippines.

Police said a truck carrying sugarcane plowed through a roadside eatery and five parked vehicles around 5:50 a.m. on Wednesday in Carasuche, a village in Taal town, about 120 km south of capital Manila. (Philippines-Accident)

WASHINGTON -- The United States and South Korea have agreed in principle on revisions to a free trade agreement, said senior White House officials at a press teleconference on Tuesday.

They said the United States and South Korea agreed to make revisions to the U.S. -Korea Free Trade Agreement which entered into force in 2012, and in return, South Korea will be exempted from the steel tariff imposed by Washington. (US-South Korea-Trade deal)

MOSCOW -- Russia's Strategic Missile Force has begun large-scale command-and-staff exercises in the Urals, the Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
