MANILA, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Seven people were reported killed and five others injured on Wednesday in a roadside accident in a town in Batangas province of the Philippines.

Police said a truck carrying sugarcane plowed through a roadside eatery and five parked vehicles around 5:50 a.m. on Wednesday in Carasuche, a village in Taal town, about 120 km south of capital Manila.

Initial investigation showed the parked 10-wheeler truck was left unattended by its driver when it moved and hit the roadside eatery and cars.

The victims were having breakfast at the eatery when the truck hit them, the police said.

Police said four people died at the scene while the other three died at the hospital. Enditem
