French shares gain 0.98 pct on Tuesday

PARIS, March 27 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Tuesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.98 percent, or 49.46 points, to close at 5,115.74 points.

Among the 40 selected large companies, 27 gained in the day. French aviation giant Safran advanced 2.61 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Innovative semiconductor solutions provider STMicroelectronics rose 2.52 percent, followed by European aviation giant Airbus which gained 2.39 percent.

Europe's leading listed commercial property company Unibail-Rodamco went down by 1.85 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. Global energy player Engie lost 0.45 percent, while French international hotel group Accor edged down 0.23 percent. Enditem
