BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.6 percent, at 3,133.72 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.19 percent higher at 10,564.38 points.

MUMBAI -- Indian markets closed higher Monday. The market is on a strong footing as the Sensex is up more than 450 points on bargain hunting in banking & financials stocks.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 33,066.41, up 469.87 point, or 1.44 percent, compared to its previous close at 32,596.54.

JAKARTA -- Indonesia shares closed lower by 10.52 points, or 0.17 percent, to a level of 6,200.17 on Monday.

Some 321,131 transactions were booked, involving 9 billion copies of shares with a value of 6.9 trillion rupiah (about 502.4 million U.S. dollars).

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended lower here on Monday.

The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,859.91 down 5.31 points or 0.28 percent, and the Emas was at 13,016.41 down 44.25 points or 0.34 percent.

SINGAPORE -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.26 percent, or 8.93 points, to close at 3,412.46.

A total of 1.37 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.36 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.04 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 214 to 210.

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX-Index, closed at 133.67 points on Monday, up 1.79 points, or 1.36 percent, against the previous trading session.

About 60.495 million shares worth some 1.129 trillion Vietnamese dong (some 50.3 million U.S. dollars) were traded at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on Monday, a decrease of 34.3 percent in volume and 25.8 percent in value against the previous trading session.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed up 239.480 points, or 0.790 percent, to 30,548.771 points on Monday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 29,995.162 and 30,548.771. Turnover totaled 141.00 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 17.97 billion U.S. dollars).

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 1,171.22 points on Monday, up 17.63 points, or 1.53 percent, against the last Friday's closing session.

About 211.695 million shares worth 7.438 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (331.24 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 146 stocks went up, 138 stocks fell down, while 55 stocks remained unchanged.

TOKYO -- Tokyo stocks reversed earlier losses on concerns of a global trade war to close higher Monday as investors bought back cheaper shares following the market tanking on Friday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 20.32 points, or 0.84 percent, to settle at 2,437.08. Trading volume stood at 303.48 million shares worth 5.86 trillion won (5.42 billion U.S. dollars).

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's stocks finished lower on Monday, with the Cambodia Securities Exchange Index down 2.82 points, or 0.83 percent, to close at 338.65.
