NAIROBI, March 26 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Kenyan media outlets on Monday.

-- Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has alleged that there is a plot by a section of leaders from Mt Kenya region to scuttle Deputy President William Ruto's presidential ambitions in 2022. Without delving into much detail, Sonko claimed a section of political leaders from the region are holding night meetings to craft a plan to field a presidential candidate. Ruto is expected to be Jubilee Party's presidential candidate in the 2022 general election. (Daily Nation)

-- Opposition chief Raila Odinga has told off critics regarding his deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta. The National Super Alliance (NASA) leader on Sunday said the rapprochement was good for the country. (The Standard)
