Iran dismisses UN rights report as "unacceptable"

Xinhua,March 26, 2018 Adjust font size:

TEHRAN, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Ministry on Sunday rejected as "unacceptable" a recent anti-Iran rights resolution by the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi censured the resolution at the recent meeting of the UNHRC in Geneva which extended the mandate of the special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran for another year.

"In our view, the one-year extension of the mission of special rapporteur on Iran's human rights situation was unprofessional and unnecessary," Qasemi said.

Iran has insisted that the reports by UNHRC is blind about "Iran's progress and determined efforts in this field." Enditem
