KHARTOUM, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Sudan on Sunday condemned the bomb attack which targeted a convoy of a security official Saturday in Egypt's Alexandria city.

Sudan's Foreign Ministry in a statement described the attack as "a terrorist act," reiterating Sudan's support for Egypt to face criminal activities.

The ministry expressed condolences to the government and people of Egypt and to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery of the injured.

The ministry further stressed Sudan's full solidarity with Egypt in whatever measures it takes to preserve the security and safety of its citizens in facing all terrorist and criminal acts.

Egypt's Interior Ministry on Saturday announced that a bomb placed under a parked car on the roadside exploded while the convoy of Alexandria's head of security, General Mostafa al-Nimr, was passing, noting that al-Nimr survived the attack.

According to the ministry, two policemen were killed in the attack and others injured. Enditem
