China's top political advisor stresses following and developing new type of party system

Xinhua,March 24, 2018 Adjust font size:

BEIJING, March 24 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Yang urged to give full play to the unique advantages of the country's new type of party system.

Wang, chairman of the 13th National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks during recent visits to the central committees of the non-communist parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC).

Wang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, laid stress on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, and unswervingly consolidating and developing the system of multiparty cooperation and political consultation led by the CPC.

As socialism with Chinese Characteristics entered a new era, the stage for multiparty cooperation is very broad, he said.

Wang urged the non-communist parties to constantly consolidate the common ideological and political basis for concerted efforts, focus on the major tasks of promoting high-quality development, ensuring and improving people's livelihood, and winning the key battles against major risks, poverty and pollution.

They should also strengthen self-building, especially the leading group construction, implement democratic centralism, and enhance their capabilities in various fields, he added.

Wang urged the ACFIC to ensure its comprehensive and effective coverage of the non-public sector of the economy, and promote the establishment of a new type of government-business relation.

Leaders of the non-communist parties and the ACFIC briefed their situations and work plans to Wang during his visits, and put forward their suggestions on developing the united front and multiparty cooperation in the new era.

You Quan, head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, also joined the visits. Enditem
