NAIROBI, March 24 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Kenyan media outlets on Saturday.

-- President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga kept their talks secret even from their closest allies because they did not want the initiative scuttled by vested interests from their respective groupings.

In his first interview since the political truce on March 9, Odinga said neither Kenyatta nor him wanted their dramatic move disrupted by 2022 presidential succession politics. Odinga noted that the talks would achieve what the opposition had been fighting for which are electoral justice and inclusivity. (Saturday Nation)

-- Teachers have accused their employer of dragging feet in solving their grievances after officials from the two groups failed to meet with a conciliator to resolve a row. Teachers' union officials said they would push for removal of officials sabotaging talks. (Standard on Saturday)
