Saudi Arabia's largest jazz festival concludes in Red Sea coastal city

Xinhua,March 24, 2018 Adjust font size:

RIYADH, March 23 (Xinhua) -- The International Jazz Festival on Friday concluded in the Red Sea coastal city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The two-day jazz festival, the largest one ever held in the Middle East kingdom, attracted ten internationally acclaimed jazz masters to participate in. The outdoor festival also features food trucks offering a variety of cuisines.

The event is supported by the General Entertainment Authority, which seeks to encourage development of different arts and open up new and diverse horizons for the kingdom's entertainment industry.

Saudi Arabia's entertainment sector has recently witnessed great development and momentum.

A robust entertainment industry comes within the objectives of the kingdom's Vision 2030 to raise the sector's contribution to the country's GDP from 3 percent to 6 percent.

The objectives also aim to localize 50 percent of the entertainment sector, as Saudis spend billions of U.S. dollars annually on entertainment outside the kingdom. Enditem
