Chicago agricultural commodities settle higher

Xinhua,March 23, 2018 Adjust font size:

CHICAGO, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) grains closed higher on Thursday, with wheat futures rising as drought conditions are unchanged in U.S Plains despite early week rainfall in Kansas.

Corn futures rose slightly on increased export demand while soybeans ended mostly steady.

The most active corn contract for May delivery rose 1 cent, or 0.27 percent to close at 3.76 dollars per bushel. May wheat delivery went up 2.25 cents, or 0.5 percent to close at 4.5575 dollars per bushel. May soybeans stayed unchanged at 10.2975 dollars per bushel.

As for international market, Saudi Arabia is tendering for another 1 million tons of world barley, which will be rather difficult to find and will only push barley prices higher. Enditem
