KUALA LUMPUR -- A sand mining vessel capsized Wednesday in the waters off Malaysia in the Malacca Strait, leaving at least one dead and 14 crew members missing, said the Malaysian coast guard.

There were 18 crew members on the vessel, including one Malaysian, one Indonesian and 16 Chinese citizens. Three have been rescued, one was found dead and 14 remained missing, according to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA). (Malaysia-Boat Accident)

KABUL -- Up to 26 people were killed and 18 others wounded after a suicide bomber blew himself up close to the Kabul University on Wednesday, an official said on the condition of anonymity.

According to the official, "a terrorist tied explosive device in his body obviously was going to target Sakhi Shrine where thousands of people were gathered to celebrate Nawroz or the solar new year of 1397," but due to tight security, he could not reach there and detonated his device close to the Kabul University. YANGON -- Myanmar's vacant presidential post will be filled by re-election in the Union Parliament within seven working days, according to a statement of the President's Office Wednesday.

The statement was a follow-up of the earlier one which announced President U Htin Kyaw's resignation out of his own wish of taking rest.

First Vice President U Myint Swe will serve as acting president according to the constitution until the parliament re-elects the president, U Zaw Htay, director-general of the President's Office told Xinhua. (Myanmar-President-Resignation)

SEOUL -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in hinted Wednesday at a possible trilateral summit with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States under situations that make progress.
