Three major pavilions for 2019 Beijing Expo complete framework

The construction of the overall framework of the public landscape is complete at the International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 Beijing (2019 Beijing Expo). By the end of March, construction will begin for the 31 provincial-level pavilions. Later in November, exhibitions arrangements will commence in the three major pavilions--the China Pavilion, the International Pavilion, and the Life Experience Pavilion. 

According to Zhou Jianping, standing deputy director of the Bureau of Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition Coordination, the design scheme for the 31 provincial-level pavilions has been roughly confirmed, and all requirements have been met for the construction to formally begin. 

In addition, the construction of the main structures of the three major pavilions have finished. The China Pavilion has sealed its roof atop the concrete steel frame, the International Pavilion has 65 stone pillars piled into the ground, and the Life Experience Pavilion has also completed the construction of its main structure. Officials in charge of the project estimate that by October, peripheral structure of the three major pavilions will also complete. By the end of year, construction of the Expo hotel and the residence compound for exhibition personnel will also be finished.

Policies regarding ticket service for the expo will also be announced this year. Ticket booking will be available after the establishment of a ticket system and the final selection of a ticket operation pattern. Ye Dahua, deputy director of the Bureau of Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition Coordination, said the tickets for the expo will be convenient, affordable and accessible, and they will embody features of the horticulture expo and integrate latest technology. Multiple types of tickets will be available, including personal tickets, group tickets, weekday tickets and tickets for appointed date. "Price of the tickets will be quite affordable compared to previous expos, while flowers and plants will be incorporated in ticket design to highlight the expo's feature," Ye said

Ninety-two countries and international organizations, including Russia, Germany, South Korea, India, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization have agreed to attend the expo by written confirmation. Twenty-eight countries have unequivocally stated to participate. Fifteen Commonwealth Caribbean countries and 18 U.N. agencies in China have reached initial agreements regarding participation. A total of 65 higher learning academies, research institutions, professional associations and enterprises have also agreed to join the expo, including Beijing Forestry University, Ferrari Owners' Club China, Air China, and Coffee Association of Ethiopia.

All supporting facilities on the periphery of the expo will be ready by the end of 2018. According to a person in charge of the ongoing construction in Yanqing district, the district will optimize its management of various projects, including a comprehensive transportation system that ensures efficient travel, parking and traffic guidance. Yanqing district will also oversee civil engineering projects covering water supply and sewage, natural gas and power supply, and optimize urban and roadside landscape and the environment.
