1º de Agosto defeats Kabuscorp in Angolan football league

LUANDA, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Defending champions 1º de Agosto defeated Kabuscorp do Palanca 3-1 on Sunday, in the limelight match of the fifth round of the Angolan National First Division Football Championship (Girabola2018), played at Luanda's 11 de Novembro Stadium.
1º de Agosto's attacking midfielder Ibukun opened the scoring in the 29th minute, a goal which secured their advantage in the first half of the match.
In the second half of the game, 1º de Agosto's forward Fof'o scored twice in the 56th and 82nd minutes, while Arouna netted the consolation goal for Kabuscorp in the 74th minute.
The game was also marked, among other things, by the expulsion of 1º de Agosto's coach Zoran Maki, for protesting the goal of the opposing team, which resulted from a foul that in his opinion did not exist.
With the first victory in the championship, 1º de Agosto rose to 13th position with four points, while Kabuscorp remain second with nine. Interclube lead the competition with 13 points.
1º de Agosto still have two games in hand, which were not played at the appointed time because of their involvement in the African Champions League's qualifiers.
Girabola2018, which counts on the participation of 16 teams, is led by Interclub with 13 points. Enditem
