NEW YORK, March 8 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale jolted 43 km northeast of Taron, Papua New Guinea, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said on Thursday.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 4.3 degrees south latitude and 153.4 degrees east longitude. Enditem
