British stocks up 0.43 pct Tuesday

LONDON, March 6 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up 30.77 points, or 0.43 percent, to close at 7,146.75 points.

Smurfit Kappa Group, Europe's leading corrugated packaging company, spiked 19.67 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. DS Smith and CRH rose by 5.64 percent and 4.60 percent, respectively.

Just Eat, an online food order and delivery company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 12.56 percent. Ashtead Group, a British industrial equipment rental company, dropped 5.50 percent. J Sainsbury, the British supermarket chain, dropped 3.24 percent. Enditem
