Indonesian wushu athletes to vie in friendly tournaments in China

JAKARTA, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's wushu team will practice in China and take parts in some tryout matches there this year, as the team eyes 1 gold medal in Asian Games, association disclosed here.
Secretary general of Indonesian wushu association Ngatino revealed that wushu athletes from 15 countries and regions will take part in the activities in China's Hong Kong and Iran in the coming month, but he did not elaborate further.
After finishing the exercise in the two nations, the Indonesian wushu team will return to the country first before they resume practice in China at mid of May of this year, he said.
In China, the Indonesian athletes will undergo several tryout matches to be held there, Ngatino revealed.
"We only focus on China because the country has strong teams in wushu sport. We also will participate in several wushu championships there," said Ngatino.
The practice in China will end about a week before the Asian Games 2018 this year, the official was quoted by Warta Kota as saying.
Indonesian wushu team secured 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal in wushu championships in Moscow of Russia from February 16 to 20, 2018. Enditem
