Lakers fall to Trail Blazers 103-108

LOS ANGELES, March 5 (Xinhua) -- The Los Angeles Lakers suffered their 15 straight loss to the Portland Trail Blazers in a 103-108 defeat on Monday night.

It is also the ninth straight loss at home for the Lakers to the Trail Blazers.  The Lakers led for most of the game but were unable to keep the Trail Blazers at bay.

The Blazers' Dame Lillard carried the team on his back to come back from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit by sinking three straight 3-points shots, all 6-feet-away from the three point line. He scored 39 points, 19 of which came in the fourth quarter, killing the Lakers' hope of beating the team from Portland for the first time since 2014.

Senior NBA writer Marc J. Spears tweeted after the game, "The Blazers have now won seven-straight. If Lillard can lead the Blazers to the West's third seed, he has to get NBA MVP consideration."

Lakers forward Julius Randle scored a team-high 21 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals. Isaiah Thomas wasn't too far behind with 19 points, but compared to Lillard, it was not his night.

Thomas shot an abysmal 23.8 percent from the field and blew every shot the Lakers had to win in the final seconds of the game.  Enditem
