Yinchuan to hold international marathon in May

   YINCHUAN, China, March 6 (Xinhua) -- The second Ningxia Yinchuan International Marathon will kick off on May 20 in Yinchuan, the capital city of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

   According to the organizers, the competition is scheduled to recruit runners between March 5 and April 13 and three races, the marathon, half marathon and the fun run, are expected to attract more than 23,000 runners from home and abroad.

   This year's marathon route will be quite different from that of last year. The route will have fewer elevation changes to make the long-distance run easier. According to organizers, the natural surroundings will also be much more attractive.

   The first Yinchuan International Marathon was held in May 2017 and attracted 20,000 runners from 41 countries and regions, including Kenya, the United States, France and Denmark.

   The northwest Ningxia region now has two international marathon races. The sixth International Marathon of the Ningxia (Wuzhong) Yellow River Coast was held in Wuzhong city last September and also attracted 20,000 participants.  Enditem
