NEW DELHI -- At least 25 people were killed when a truck carrying a wedding party fell into a deep drain in India's western state of Gujarat on Tuesday, News18 TV channel reported.

The accident occurred in the state's Bhavnagar area near Ranghola on Rajkot-Bhavnagar state highway. (India-Road Accident-Death)

MANILA -- Five workers were killed and 55 others injured when a four-storey bunkhouse collapsed at dawn on Tuesday in the central Philippine city of Cebu, disaster officials said.

Disaster officials said the accident occurred around 3:00 a.m. in Luz, a village in Cebu City. Five of those injured were seriously injured and were taken to a hospital for treatment. (Philippines-Bunkhouse-Collapse)

TOKYO -- The chief executive officer (CEO) of Kobe Steel Ltd. will resign to account for the firm's string of data fabrication scandals that have had a wide-reaching impact on other industries and sullied the reputation of manufacturers in Japan, sources close to the matter said Tuesday.

At a board meeting Tuesday, the resignations of CEO Hiroya Kawasaki, 63, as well as executive vice president and head of the aluminum and copper business Akira Kaneko, also 63, were provisionally approved, with the firm set to release its final report on the data fabrication misdemeanors later in the day. SEOUL -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in's special envoys met with Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) for over four hours in Pyongyang, the Blue House of South Korea said Tuesday.
