DOHA, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Al-Jazeera media network is hosting the second edition of the Future of Media Leaders' Summit which began on Monday in Doha, according to the media's statement.
The two-day summit will discuss the latest technological developments related to the media industry, under the theme "Media and Cloud -- Limitless Possibilities."
A number of prominent figures and leaders of the world's top broadcasting and media organizations along with international experts and keynote speakers were invited to attend the event.
"Our priority is to continue to report the truth to our audience, and to do that effectively, we must harness the latest technologies," said Mostefa Souag, acting director general of Al-Jazeera.
The attendees included managers from Microsoft, Cisco, Avid, Google, BBC and Fox network.
"This year, the conference aims to present a futuristic vision on cloud technology, cyber security, artificial intelligence, TV+, and fast-paced technological progress in the industry," said Al-Jazeera's Executive Director of Technology and Operations Mohamed Abuagla.
Al-Jazeera was accused by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain of "incitement" following the 2011 uprisings that led to the overthrow of leaders in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Yemen.
The four Arab countries have demanded Qatar to shut down the news network in the dispute stemming from allegations that Qatar has been funding terrorist organizations.
The demand is on a 13-point list issued by the blockading countries after they cut diplomatic and economic ties with Qatar last year. Enditem
