French shares gain 0.51 pct on Monday

PARIS, March 5 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Monday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.60 percent, or 30.65 points, to close at 5,167.23 points.

A total of 34 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

The global leader in oil and gas projects, technologies, systems and services TechnipFMC advanced 3.56 percent, the top gainers of the blue chips. The leading global construction materials and solutions company LafargeHolcim rose 3.20 percent, followed by STMicroelectronics, Franco-Italian company in innovative semiconductor solutions sector, which gained 3.02 percent.

AXA, a global insurance brand, went down by 9.70 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational financial giant BNP Parisbas lost 1.30 percent. Another French financial group Credit Agricole edged down 1.09 percent. Enditem
