German shares gain 1.49 pct Monday

FRANKFURT, March 5 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index up 177.16 points, or 1.49 percent, to close at 12,090.87 points.

Energy group RWE won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 4.62 percent. Energy group E.ON and housing association Vonovia rose by 3.38 percent and 2.92 percent respectively.

European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 2.11 percent. Commerzbank and automotive manufacturer BMW down by 1.47 percent and 1.04 percent respectively.

Insurance and financial services company Allianz was the most-traded share with a turnover of 428.54 million euros (527.40 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
