LAGOS, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria's Super Falcons defender Onome Ebi on Monday said her new deal with Chinese outfit Henan Huishang FC was the best she has ever signed.
The Nigerian player told reporters in Abuja, Nigeria's capital that she had for long eyed playing in the Chinese football league and was glad to have now exploited the opportunity.
"In spite of my interest, I still doubted the quality of football being played in the Asian league until an intervention came," the News Agency of Nigeria quoted her saying.
Ebi who had earlier played for clubs in Turkey, Sweden and Belarus said Falcons' teammate Asisat Oshoala eventually convinced her of the league's standard.
"It is a dream come true for me, because I have always eyed the Chinese league," she added, noting that this is also the best deal for her, so far in her career, which includes the training, money, comfort and more.
"The league is now very competitive unlike what I had thought and it will pave way for more Nigerians to move there," she said.
Ebi who was unveiled on Thursday said the distance from Nigeria would not deter her from doing her best for her club in China.
"I am a professional and used to such situations," she said.
The Chinese Super League has already taken the football fraternity by storm attracting some of the best players in world football and Nigerian players have not been left out.
Recently, Super Eagles skipper Mikel Obi joined his compatriots Obafemi Martins and Anthony Ujah in the CSL. Enditem
