Indonesia's men softball players expect steady achievement in Asia Cup 2018

   JAKARTA, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian men's softball team who will vie in the Asia Cup tournament this year has set a steady target with achievement in similar tournament in 2016.

   The Asia Cup 2018 is scheduled to be played in Gelora Bung Karno sport stadium compound in Indonesian capital from April 23 to 28.

   The Indonesian national team is expected to secure one bronze medal, which is similar to the country's team in the Asia Cup tournament in 2016 in Japan, in the regional sport event, chairman of Indonesian softball and baseball association Andika Monoarta said.

  "The competition in the Asia Cup 2018 will be tough as China and Japan will deploy their best players," he disclosed.

   The chairman said that the national team is expected to enter semifinal of the tournament.

  "We could see weaknesses of the national team and the strength of opponents in the tournament," said Monoarta.

   That would be a warm up for the team in preparation to compete in the 18th Asian Games in the country this year, he added.  Enditem
